-"RIO" topped the US box office taking in twice that of its nearest competitor, "SCREAM 4". The horror movie sequel did beat out its competition at the UK box office.

-X Factor champ Joe McElderry is being dumped by Syco records, but American Idol champ David Cook is gearing up to release his sophomore album.

-Kimberley Walsh looks to take Konnie Huq's place as the X-tra factor host and Simon Cowell admits he will be taking a backseat for this year's UK edition of the show. Mariah Carey is also confirmed to be a mentor for one episode of the US edition after turning down a judging role to spend time with her yet-to-be-born twins.

-Lady GaGa's fans are complaining that her new album cover looks "weird and trashy". I'm afraid I have to agree with them.

-The CEO of Ferrero has died at the age of 47 after falling from his bike. The company produces everything from Nutella to Tic Tacs and is home to one of Italy's richest families.

-The death toll for the Japanese earthquake/tsunami has reached almost 14,000.

-Amazon has unleashed an advertising-supported version of their e-Reader Kindle which is $25 cheaper than the original.

-Nintendo is silently preparing to make an announcement regarding the successor to the popular Wii. Though the name is currently unknown, it will reportedly feature Blu-Ray based HD discs and be backwards compatible with Wii titles. Another report confirms that the controllers will have an HD screen built into them. The console is to reportedly be more powerful than the XBox and PS3. The announcement of the next Nintendo console is expected this summer.
